Drive-In of the Dead
I don't know who cast those Lizard kits, and I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but man those castings sucked. I haven't had to put that much work into prepping a kit in a long time. I saw they were a little rough, and thought they were good examples of what many would consider a real garage kit. So to try and document the building process I shot some video, something I've been wanting to do. A lot easier to show, than it is to explain. Most of it didn't turn out so good, but that was kind of expected. Anyway, after about 3 weeks and weekends they are ready for paint. Maybe I'll salvage some video and post it at some day.
Back to the title of the post, it's Dawn of the Dead's 30th birthday today, so today's as good as any to share these pictures.
Recently I drove to Sterling, Il to the Midway Drive-In so I could finally see Diary of the Dead. Not too far of a drive, but far enough to get some adverse reactions telling people you're driving almost 2 hours to see a movie.

They ran all the old-school food-ads and a bunch of trailers. Many thanks to my friend for these pictures, my camera picked up nothing.

To top it all off, they ran Return of the Living Dead, and a strange choice (in my opinion) of the first 20 minutes of Night of the Living Dead, and the last 40 minutes of Day of the Dead. A great time indeed, and some great movies. I really liked Diary, and am anxious to see the sequel.
Happy Birthday Dawn of the Dead!
