Forever

Is how long these guys are taking.  You can see some overspray and other areas that need tightening up.  There are just lots of different sections and colors to paint, and that hemp necklace or whatever was used on the sculpt was a little time consuming by the cuffs.  With just a few hours at night to work during the week it's hard to get as much painting done as I would like sometimes.  The rest is just details, like the eyes, nails, veins, crown, base... I'll save that so I can give it a good block of time and detail the hell out of it with some oil paints and finish them off with a bang hopefully.

In the meantime, always trying to keep ahead because this next kit just about marks the end of the ancient shit for me.  The rest of my commission work hasn't been sitting around long enough to make me sweat... yet.
I dug into this box tonight, a couple more kits from the same gentlemen who are waiting for the Goblin Kings.

Nice detail on the base too, have to keep them separate as they're signed and numbered.  Aways a nice touch.

The box still had tape on it, which means it's been since I moved into this house that I had them out.  So that's been over a year.  I know, I'm a horrible person.  These two guys have been like saints, however.  They stay in touch but don't ever say anything bad or hound me or anything like that.  Who knows what they say about me in private or on the boards though, haha.  Maybe it's good I haven't been visiting them much.
So now I have to try to give them better than the best I can paint and try to find a way to make it up to them, which I've been trying to do with this stuff all along until I get my backlog cleared out.  Everyone has been great though, really.  To give you guys an idea, this is what I got:
Goblin Kings, Lizards, Man Who Laughs, Vermithrax (maybe, still waiting on word), and a Maximus (old stuff)
And without going to "the shelf" in the basement, I got lots of cool stuff coming up, like another Devil Girl, A Stuck on You (Can't wait to paint a dinosaur for once), and some big-ass lifesize Godzilla Heads.  Well, lifesize for the actor that wore them
The new issue of AFM should be on doorsteps in a few weeks I think, and I'll have some more pictures I can show then.  Who knows, maybe by then I'll actually have a website I can post them on.  8P
