Abduction 1919

What a fantastic kit.  I'm happy to finally be working on it, as I'm sure a certain and patient fellow is.  This has been in the wings for a long time, and I only hope to do as good a job as I can on it.  But a little bit about how I got to this point.

This is an old kit, and the castings are, well, representative of that time.  Kuntz applies a fine texture to his sculpts, which are beautiful, but also a pain to reproduce when eliminating offsets and mold lines.

There was something that always seemed off to be about the kit, and I think it was how her head was positioned.  I'm not sure if this was how the castings came out, but how the kit fits, her head is twisted beyond her shoulder.  I resculpted the area and neck, so the head is only turned as far as the shoulder.  (That's as far as mine goes without snapping.  Perhaps it's just me....)

That's it for now!

Well, I managed to leave the first comment on your blog...in the wrong place. This is the thing I have to make space for. And as long as you're slinging the paint, the patience is always rewarded. Here's to your new workspace, your new blog, and many peeks at buildups that make visitors say, "Ooooh...aaah! That's the best one of those I've ever seen!"

This blog seems like a good idea. Small updates can be done with a minimum of fuss. Loved the update on Abduction 1919. I'm working on one myself and it is the most challenging resin kit I've ever had.
Good luck with the kit and the web site!

Abduction 1919 is a real rewarding kit but worth all the trouble - I would only part with over my dead body.... lookin' forward your progress! Greetings from Berlin,

Thad is a master; I’ve had him build and paint a few kits for me and found him to be great to work with. He’s superb at painting, especially skin tones. I love the blog idea, and especially the insight into his process of working - something I’ve enjoyed on his website. I had Thad do a Pit and the Pendulum kit for me and he suggested and created the ingenious lighting set up for the cauldron. Best wishes Thad!
